Tampines URA Master Plan
Tampines North Development Master Plan
Tampines North is the fresh face of a well-developed planning area. Built as an extension of Tampines, the town will feature a new linear park linking to the existing Tampines Eco Green and Sun Plaza parks. Tampines North will also have a spread of amenities including a commercial centre, community club, and schools.
Tampines Town Hub in the Next 10 Years
Tampines North is set to become an integral part of Tampines. When fully developed, Tampines North will provide about 21,000 new homes, which are well connected to other parts of the city via new MRT stations on the Downtown Line (DTL) eg. Tampines West and Tampines East. This provides greater accessibility and shortens travel times for Tampines residents to other parts of Singapore.
The newly completed Our Tampines Hub (OTH) is Singapore’s first integrated lifestyle hub that includes six swimming pools, a 20-court badminton hall, five-storey regional library and 5,000 seater stadium with a FIFA-approved football pitch. This project is built with an aim to encourage more active lifestyle and connection between residents and community at large.
Tampines residents can also look forward to other commercial developments including:
More primary and secondary schools for families with school-going children. In addition, a new community centre will be built to offer a range of facilities and programmes to Tampines residents.
As the population of Tampines is expected to increase significantly in 10 years time, the government wants to balance this out by building more green spaces. Most homes in Tampines will be within 400m of neighbourhood parks or park connectors, which will bring more greenery to the doorstep of residents, enhancing the beauty and liveability of the area. Residents will also be able to stroll or cycle around the estate via a network of walkways and cycling paths as Singapore looks to become a car-lite city.
Future developments will bring jobs closer to home for residents of Tampines, such as new industrial sites within Tampines North and next to IKEA, Giant and Courts. The expansion of nearby Changi Business Park will see more companies move their operations there due to lower rents versus commercial rental in the CBD, resulting in a more employment opportunities.
What does improvement to Tampines neighbourhood implies?
Improved connectivity has led to property price increases in the area, and it is only natural that we can only expect Tampines properties will hold its value or fetch higher price in the future as extension of Downtown Line is completed in 2024, connecting Tampines to even greater parts of the city. Newer industrial and commercial developments will also increase rental demand and rental prices in the area.
With several upcoming enhancements to the Tampines estate and expansion of Changi airport and Changi Business Park, future residents of Treasure At Tampines can expect a better quality of life living in the vicinity.
